Biography

Sweet southern charm meets rock-n-roll. Lauren-Ashley Redmond has been singing ever since she could talk. “I’ve always wanted to sing. It’s what I love and who I am.” Inspired by country music sensations, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, as well as music legend, Stevie Nicks, Lauren-Ashley has a unique country voice with a rock edge.

Singer/Songwriter Lauren-Ashley grew up in the small town of Griffin, GA. She attended high school at Flint River Academy where she participated in cheerleading, softball, all-select chorus, and a was a trio member of the literary team. “Growing up in such a small town has had its advantages and disadvantages but all in all, it has made me into the person I am today. I always have enjoyed the little things… going to football games on Friday nights, riding four wheelers, going fishing with my friends and just enjoying every minute that I could with those people who have made such an impact on my life.”

In her early years, Lauren-Ashley would sing in school and Church programs. Her performances expanded in her later high school and college years to playing different venues in Georgia. In her freshmen year of college at Georgia Southern University, Lauren-Ashley represented her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, in the GSU Idol competition, a American Idol spin-off singing competition that the school holds annually. After three rounds of incredible performances, Lauren-Ashley was named the 2010 GSU Idol. “Performing for large audiences over the past year has been an awesome opportunity for me to become comfortable on stage and I love every minute of it!”

Lauren-Ashley’s electrifying stage presence and captivating voice caught the eye of producer Trey Roth with Black Cat Studio. In early October, Lauren-Ashley began working with Trey on her 6 song, self-titled EP. “The first time I went into the studio and met with my producer, I could see how excited and dedicated he was to this project, and let me just say, the finished product definitely reflects that!”

When the idea of an album was presented, Lauren-Ashley immediately began writing her own songs. “I’ve always had songs in my head that I would think of and be like, hey that would be a good song, but I’ve never written them down. When I finally sat down and put my thoughts and experiences in to lyrics I was surprised to see how good it sounded!” Lauren-Ashley’s music is inspired by her every day life. Her music is truly a reflection of who she is and the things she has been through. “My songs are my feelings… I write about real life experiences: falling in love, breakups, dreams, and relationships. The songs on this album are real, and I feel that people will be able to easily connect to and relate with the lyrics.” Her EP is expected to release in March and will be available on iTunes, cdbaby.com, and Amazon.

So what’s next for this hometown star? Lauren-Ashley plans on moving to Nashville, TN this summer. “I know that this is what I really want to do with my life. Music is my passion and what better place to be to pursue that dream than in Music City?” Lauren-Ashley will begin touring this summer, playing in venues across Georgia and Nashville, and promoting her songs on radio stations. Look for her soon in a town near you.
